Our Fifth Year Performing at Blues Fest!

Our Fifth Consecutive Year performing at this prestigious nationally-recognized festival

Our Artists and Mentors are honored and excited to be performing on various stages and in different formats every day during  the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, Oregon.

In advance of our July 4th, North Blues Stage, 12 noon show, we will be in residency at the Hotel Rose on Naito Parkway at The Morrison Bridge for the Delta Music Experience Blues Brunch, a 4-day series of shows. This same series was awarded Best Event of the Year 2016 by Cascade Blues Association at their annual Muddy Awards!  Again this year United by Music North America will bring the core band plus DMExtras to the beautiful Hotel Rose, just across from the north end of the festival grounds.

Joining us this year is our resident UBMNA Guest Mentor all week, Miss JJ Thames, national touring musician who brings heartfelt Blues-Rock, Soul, Funk, and Blues to every stage nationwide and overseas.  Miss Thames has a very special story to tell which she will share with the intimate audiences at the Hotel Rose. Also in residence all week are our UBMNA Touring Artists KingFish and Marlana VanHoose and UBMNA Mentors that will visit and perform with us throughout the week include Fantastic Negrito, Cedric Burnside, Duffy Bishop, Musicians from The Paul deLay Tribute Celebration and DME Blues Cruises, Andy Stokes, Lisa Mann, Karen Lovely, Julie Amici, Dean Muller and more added daily!

Kick off the July 4th Day of Music with United by Music North America band featuring Miss Marlana VanHoose presenting the National Anthem, in a return of her 2015 rendition that captured the hearts of all in attendance.  Also featured during this show is Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, blues guitar aficionado from Mississippi.  Both these exceptional musicians were on the UBMNA Tour in St. Louis and Memphis earlier this year and ready to reunite with their United by Music family in Portland and the PacNW.

KingFish and Marlana join the rest of our Artists in our vocal ensemble Jordan, Bethany, Aaron, Nick, Patrick, Wyatt, David and instrumentalists Ryan & Roy all backed by our power-packed UBMNA Mentor Band including MD Dave Fleschner, Louis Pain, Ben Rice, James Ford and Sam Hallam.  Special guest Mentors include JJ Thames, Duffy Bishop, Andy Stokes, Karen Lovely, Lisa Mann,  Julie Amici, and many other of our All Star coaches and mentors will be on stage for this energetic and moving kick off to your FOURTH OF JULY at Waterfront Blues Festival!
